A great favourite with Stevington Concert goers, Woody returns for another opportunity to see a great guitarist and performer. Woody will also be screening his much acclaimed film Harlem Street Singer, a biographical film about Reverend Gary Davis who tutored the young guitarist of the the future Woody Mann.
Reverend Gary Davis, also known as Blind Gary Davis was a blues guitar singer who was also proficient on the banjo, guitar and harmonica. His fingerpicking guitar style influenced many other artists. His students include Stephan Grossman, Woody Mann, David Broom David Van Ronk, Roy Bookbinder and Bob Weir. He influenced the likes of Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Wizz Jones, Jorma Kaukonen, Keb Mo and John Sebastian.
